Arriving
in Clemson, mid-afternoon on this bright sunny day, I knew my visit was
going to be a tigerrific one. Nestled in the hills of South Western
Carolina, the campus is a beatiful place to study. Starting out as
a military college in the mid 1800's, it quickly gained a tiger-reputation.
Today it is filled with Tiger Pride. Are you on the team?
The
town of Clemson is pretty small - most of what's "happening" can be found
on a strip leading to the main campus. On this street are loads of
shops selling tigrobilia (yes, I did buy quite a bit), On the right
is the Knickerbocker tiger saying "I want YOU!"
If
you're feeling dry, and it's a pub you desire, you should head to the Tiger
Town Tavern, which is celebrating its 25th year. The Tavern has an
especially cool logo - a "drunk" tiger lying on a mug of beer. |
