Seneca Rocks BMW /5 Motorcycle Rally
Seneca Rocks, WV    Jul 14-15, 2001
Here I am in front of Cabin Central at Yokum's Campground in Seneca Rocks.  As you can see, I didn't arrive on a /5 at all - in fact, this is my newly acquired Triumph Tiger.  I jut got it, about 10 days ago and already enjoying the heck out of it.

I wanted to arrive on my /5 of course, but unfortunately it is down for repairs.  I inadvertantly ran it without oil for a 1/4 mile or so - enough to damage the bottom end.  It is evident that I at least need to replace the piston con-rod bushings, maybe more.

We decided to take a hike to the top of Seneca Rocks.  This is the "easy" way compared to climbining a mountain the traditional way with rock climbing gear.  The hike wasn't as bad as I thought, and some of the vews at the top were breathtaking, despite the hazy weather.

This is the cabin I ended up staying in.  I was going to stay in my tent, but unfortunately that fell off my bike somewhere between Elkins and Seneca Rocks.  I couldn't find it, retracing my route.

The cabin was $150 for one night, divided by 5 people that wasn't so bad; still it was pretty expensive.  Even though I was out $30 and my tent in the end, I still had a great time.

The next day, we decided to visit the Cass scenic railroad.  After that, the other guys returned to Yokum's at Seneca Rocks, I went on my separate way home, to Fairmont, WV.
