First
thing I noticed, there were lots of vendors, but most were selling old
junk. Parts for old British Iron, that is. Stuff I have no
use for, as I ride a modern Hinckley Triumph. Unfortunately I couldn't
find any vendor of helmets or summer jackets.
Getting
to the end of the row of vendors, I noticed some trials wrapping up.
The classic slow line. A lot of people put there foot down - I know
this is a lot harder than it looks. The guys on the trials bikes
sure had the advantage:
Vintage Triumph (?) and Gas Gas (the winner) |

KTM - the ultimate moto-cross bike.
As you can see this one has seen lots of action.
Dig the cool set of panniers and back rack the owner
made himself. |
Here
are some vintage bikes I managed to spot:
BSA

Two version of the '67 BSA Lightning
|
Unusual twin exhaust on same side |
A BSA 500 Single. |
Other
British Bikes
Cherry Red Triton - a Cafe Racer |
Triumph TR7 (early 60s) |
Royal Enfield Classic (late '90s) -
They stil make these in India |

A neat 1952 AJS 500cc Cafe Racer (rebuilt in 1992
w/ disc brakes).
Seems this could make a good daily rider.

Noticed from the license
plates that most people were from Ohio or PA; very, very few from WV despite
the Northern Panhandle being a few miles away (15 minutes at most to Weirton).
I think there were even more bikes from Ontario (Canada) than WV.
